Armor Plus
STRUCTURAL LAMINATED GLASS
For a New Generation of Building Design & Protection.
Armor Plus is laminated glass for safety glazing applications using SentryGlas of DuPont™ along with the processing solutions of SAGL engineered with highly developed advanced technologies. Armor Plus is the superior version of Armor glass making it even more safe, strong, durable & storm resistant. This glass can be configured with uncoated /coated, toughened or heat strengthened glass to get value addition in performance.
The process of manufacturing Armor Plus glass is similar to PVB lamination. SentryGlas is sandwiched between two layers of glass. The sandwich is passed through pressurized rollers and heating ovens to remove air and soften the SentryGlas. This assembly is subjected to extreme pressure (10-13 bar <bar is the unit measurement of pressure>) at temperature of 100-150 degree celsius. During the lamination process strong chemical bonds are formed between the SentryGlas & both the glasses.
Applications
Windows, Doors. Skylights & Canopies | Facades | Balustrades, Rails & Partitions | Floor & Stairs | Storefronts & Retail Displays | Hurricane Rated Systems | Marine & Transportation | High Security | Fins amongst many others.

Benefits
Strength & Stiffness: SentryGlas used in making Armor Plus being 100 times stiffer & 5 times stronger than PVB, for given load condition & supporting systems, one can go for lesser thickness and helps to reduce thickness of glass used normally.
Post glass-breaking behavior: It is far more superior than normal PVB laminated glass. Armor Plus being highly stiff, it survives the impact & shows minimal tendency to tear free from supports or fittings.
Minimal Support: Because of increased strength, Armor Plus can tolerate high stress loads. Clean, smooth, expansive facades can be engineered with minimal metal exposure & reduced need for four sided edge framing.
Structural Durability: Armor Plus retains its mechanical properties over the life of building & also over large range of temperature (room temperature to 80 degrees Celsius).
Exposed Edge Stability: Armor Plus is less susceptible to moisture intrusion or other weathering effects therefore the edges can be exposed to atmosphere.
Load Bearing Member: Being tremendously stiff, strong & durable, Armor Plus is best suited as load bearing member like fins in spider glazing application.
Extra Clear Safety Glazing: Due to the outstanding clarity of SentryGlas, one can use Armor Plus with extra clear glass without compromising on its clarity.
